The Aged Care Quality Standards, in plain language
The strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards commenced on 1 November 2025 under the Aged Care Act 2024. They set what older people can expect from their aged care provider. We translate each Standard and its outcomes into plain English — from the perspective of the GPs who work in these facilities every day — so residents, families and staff can understand what the Standards actually mean for care.
